Due to a positive case of Covid-19 among the cast, spit&vigor theatre company has postponed performances for their World Premiere of Ectoplasm, written and directed by Sara Fellini. The play, which was originally scheduled to run January 5-February 6, 2022, will now open on Thursday, January 13 at The Players Theatre.

Based on a true story, THE WAKE OF DORCAS KELLY brings the audience front and center as an intimate circle of mourners gather within The Maiden Tower brothel to hold a wake for beloved former madam Dorcas Kelly, while a riot rages outside on the streets of Dublin, 1762.

Spit&vigor will be presenting the world premiere of another intriguing period piece. THE WAKE OF DORCAS KELLY, a dark comedy written by Sara Fellini (NYIT Award nominee and Planet Award winner) on nominee) is the story of an executed brothel madam and the friends, family, and secrets she left behind. The piece – taking place in Dublin, 1762 – is staged in the round with minimal set pieces, with the audience embedded in the walls and furniture of the brothel-turned-funeral home. Sex, lies, murder, and the untold secrets of the dead are unearthed and exposed.

On Monday, September 16, 2019, The New York Innovative Theatre Foundation announced the 2019 recipients at the annual Off-Off-Broadway IT Awards. For the past 15 years, the It Awards have celebrated the vibrant and creative indie theatre community under the dedicated leadership of Executive Directors Shay Gines and Nick Micozzi who are stepping down and at the ceremony introduced new leadership for the organization: Cat Parker, Artistic Director of Articulate Theatre Company; Ariel Estrada, Producing Artistic Director of Leviathan Lab Projects; and Jazmyn Arroyo, Co-Founding Artistic Director of Step 1 Theatre Project will join Akia Squiteri, Artistic Director of Rising Sun Performance Company as Directors of the organization.

On Monday, July 29, 2019, The New York Innovative Theatre Awards, announced the 2019 nominees for the annual Off-Off-Broadway awards. The It Awards have celebrated the vibrant and creative theatre community for the past 15 years.  The official announcement took place at (Le) Poisson Rouge by six celebrated artists and producers from the community including: Jazmyn Arroyo, Jennifer Betite Yen, Iyvon Edebiri, Chris Ignacio, Ashley Rogers, and Erez Ziv.
