On Monday, September 26, 2016, The New York Innovative Theatre Foundation, the organization who for the past 12 years has been dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway, announced the 2016 recipients at its annual awards ceremony, The IT Awards. Hosted by a crowd favorite, Jason Kravits and directed by award winning director and sound designer, DeLisa White the ceremony took place from 7pm to 10pm at the Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College.

NYIT award-winning company members of spit&vigor are thrilled to announce their upcoming production of THE EXECUTION OF MRS. COTTON, written by Sara Fellini and directed by Samuel Adams. THE EXECUTION OF MRS. COTTON will be presented Thursdays-Saturdays at 8 PM July 14-31 with one 3PM matinee on Sunday, July 24th (there will no evening performance on July 24th). The performances will be held at IRT Theater (154 Christopher Street, Manhattan, buzzer 3B, off the Christopher Street Path Station, or a few blocks from the Christopher Street 1 stop) as part of IRT Theater's 3B Residency series. Following a cave collapse, 5 coal miners struggle to survive the dwindling supply of oxygen, the lack of food and water, the unraveling sense of passing time, and, even more threatening, their own competing natures. Brutally weaving through family histories, complicated friendships, crooked politics, childhood visions, audacious hopes, eerie dreams, criminal addictions, and fervent spirituality in this run-of-the-mill Appalachian community, Butcher Holler Here We Come is a descent into the male psyche-in-crisis where secret desires, carnal urges, and hidden memories come boiling to the surface in a primitive territory of Earth that mirrors the subliminal mind.
This spring, THEATER 4the PEOPLE will present HAZARD A LITTLE DEATH, a new play written by Sara Fellini (Inheritance, And Eat it Too) and directed by Isaac James Byrne (The Other Mozart, Tar Baby, To Nineveh), as part of the 6th Annual Planet Connections Theatre Festivity. "This Round's On Us" - After the Fool... is the second fundraising event of the year to support Nylon Fusion Theatre Company's 6th Season. The festival will feature plays by new and notable playwrights, including Kristina Poe, a longtime member of LAByrinth Theater Company, James Harmon Brown, best known for his work on All My Children, and Jack Karp, a member of Nylon Fusion and winner of the David Mamet Playwriting Competition, whose recent play Incendiary Agents, presented at The New Ohio, performed to sold-out houses.
