There’s nothing better than theatre that truly surprises you. While Cruel Intentions didn’t teach me anything new about the world around us, it certainly advocates for the place of Jukebox musicals within the theatre landscape. If nothing else, book a ticket to see some top-class performers belt out your favourite 90s hits.

All new photos have been released from [title of show], a love letter to the musical theatre and to the joy of collaboration, which plays Southwark Playhouse Borough through 30 November 2024. Check out the photos here!

Director Christopher D. Clegg assembles Jacob Fowler (Hunter), Abbie Budden (Heidi), Mary Moore (Susan), and Thomas Oxley (Jeff) as the quartet, while Tom Chippendale is their accompanying pianist Larry. New casts will never have that je-ne-sais-quoi of the artists playing themselves, but, if the chemistry is there (and here it is indeed), the material is a boisterous enough journey through music and stressful deadlines bolstered up by meaningful friendships. Mind you, the piece is reasonably sized but, here, it regrettably comes off as a filler production to tide the venue over. 

‘We Are Ipswich’, an independent collective of nationally acclaimed arts and heritage organisations, is bringing the festive spirit to Suffolk like never before. This season, they’re joining forces to launch Ipswich Entertains for Christmas – a campaign showcasing a spectacular line-up of premier league art and culture that promises thrilling, high-quality entertainment for all ages.

The cast has been announced for the London production of Tony-nominated Broadway hit [title of show] by Hunter Bell and Jeff Bowen. Performances are on Tue 2 July and Wed 3 July 2024 at Phoenix Arts Club.

Some can agree that the film took itself seriously to the point of unintentional hilarity, so director Jonathan O'Boyle and co-writers Roger Kumble, Lindsey Rosin and Jordan Ross do the next best thing in adapting it by shifting the tone into campy dark comedy.

Casting has been announced for the eagerly awaited London premiere of Cruel Intentions: The ‘90s Musical at The Other Palace.

CAST ANNOUNCED for London premiere of ‘Cruel Intentions: The ‘90s Musical’ at The Other Palace. Packed with ‘90s pop classics, the show opens on January 11, 2024, for a 14-week season. Press night is on January 19, 2024.
