D'Arcy Carden

After graduating from college, D'Arcy Carden moved to New York City, where she joined the musical comedy company Venus Rising and appeared in Seven Hearts (2001). In 2002, she directed, produced, and starred in a holiday stage production. She began training with the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in 2004 and later toured with the UCB Touring Company. By 2010, she was a cast member in the interactive New York City production The Ride, and in 2013 she co-created and starred in the web series Terrible Babysitters.

Carden had a recurring role as Gemma on Broad City (2014–2019) and appeared in guest roles on Inside Amy Schumer (2015), Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (2016), and Veep (2017). Her film credits include iSteve (2013), The To Do List (2013), and Other People (2016).

In 2016, Carden began starring as Janet in the NBC comedy series The Good Place, earning Critics' Choice Television Award and Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. She also had a recurring role as Natalie Greer on HBO's Barry (2018–2023), receiving Screen Actors Guild Award ensemble nominations with the cast.

Her later film and television credits include Greener Grass (2019), Let It Snow (2019), Bombshell (2019), Bonding (2019), Robot Chicken (2019), Mapleworth Murders (2020), and A League of Their Own (2022), in which she starred as Greta Gill.

Carden made her Broadway debut as Alicia in The Thanksgiving Play (2023). In 2024, she launched the SmartLess Media podcast WikiHole and was cast in the comedy series Sunny Nights.
