Tiffany Rachelle Stewart is an actress, director, choreographer, and the Head of Physical Acting at NYU Tisch School of Drama’s New Studio on Broadway. Centering the mind-body connection alongside rigorous progressive movement explorations, Tiffany's pedagogy teaches actors how to harness the deep and ineffable intelligence of the body to create work that is nuanced, grounded, and unbound by fear.
Tiffany received an M.F.A in Acting from The Yale School of Drama, and has since gone on to perform in television & film, at many of the nation’s leading regional theaters, and in several productions in NYC both off and on Broadway. She has directed and choreographed numerous productions, from new plays to Shakespeare to full-length musicals including Balm in Gilead, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, Passing Strange, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Fun Home, and others. Tiffany received the Best Actress in a Drama award at the New York Television Festival (“Black Rose”), a Lucille Lortel for Best Revival (Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992), and an AUDELCO for Outstanding Ensemble (Sugar In Our Wounds). Tiffany is currently preparing for upcoming projects at Berkeley Repertory Theater, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, the Folger Theater, and a soon-to be announced production in NYC.
