BIO
Steven Silverstein is a composer whose work include two children’s shows (One Magic Christmas and The Adventures of the First Easter Bunny for Enchorage Press), Forever and A Day (Columbia College,Chicago), The Human Heart (Marymount Manhattan College) and Nothin' But Love (Ellington Room in NYC). Steven had an evening of his work performed at NYPL-Lincoln Center. His song “Shoot Me” received an honorable mention from NY City Center's Lobby Project. He is currently working on a new revue "HOW RUDE,:" and a new musical "NOTHIN' BUT LOVE".
He has accompanied on Broadway, (BLOOD BROTHERS, SWINING ON A STAR) Off-Broadway (GREEN HEART) and regional theatre, and such NYC cabaret venues as 54 Below, The Duplex, and Don’t Tell Mama in NYC. A MAC nominee, he has coached and played piano for the likes of Debra Messing, Sean Hayes, Megan Mullally, Harry Connick Jr., Carole King, Tony Award Winners Bill Irwin and Annaleigh Ashford.
He teaches at The American Music and Dramatic Academy and The Neighborhood Playhouse Junior School and has played piano at Marymount Manhattan College, PACE University, SUNY Purchase, and NYU. B.A. and B.S.: University of Bridgeport. M.A.: NYU.
