Ryan Dobrin BIO

Ryan Dobrin (he/him) is a queer and biracial New York-based director and producer. He is interested in work centering around otherness and emotional growth, told through stylized storytelling, spectacle, music, movement, and true human connection. Ryan is one of the Producing Artistic Leaders of OBIE Award-winning The Movement Theatre Company and the director of performance-making collective Those Guilty Creatures. Fellowships/affiliations include the directing fellowships at The Drama League, Playwrights Horizons and Manhattan Theatre Club, the Directors Group at Roundabout Theater Company, the 24 Hour Plays: Nationals, the artistic fellowship at Ars Nova, and the directing observership program at NAMT. Ryan graduated from Wesleyan University, where he received the Rachel Henderson Theater Prize and the Outreach & Community Service Prize in Theater.
