Andrew Lippa to Host SOUND BITES 13 at Symphony Space
Theatre Now's festival will feature Leenya Rideout, Courtney Bassett, and 50 actors in 10 short musicals
Tony nominee Andrew Lippa will host SOUND BITES 13, the annual Festival of 10-Minute Musicals presented by Theatre Now New York, on Monday, May 4 at Symphony Space.
The festival will feature 10 fully staged short musicals performed by a company of nearly 50 actors. Performers include Leenya Rideout, Courtney Bassett, and Andrew Rothenberg, along with D.C. Anderson, LaDonna Burns, Mike Cefalo, Veronica Fiaoni, J’Quay Gibbs, Kendyl Ito, Andrew Mayer, Amy Persons, Michelle Veintimilla, and others.
Writers featured in the festival include alumni of programs such as NYU’s Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program, the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Writing Workshop, Berklee College of Music, and Prospect’s Musical Theatre Lab. Since its launch in 2013, SOUND BITES has showcased nearly 200 emerging musical theatre writers.

The 2026 festival lineup includes 53 Months by Sequoia Sellinger and Sarah Rossman; Bitch, I Cloned You! by PJ Ju and Ed Horan; Divorce Party by Carli Freeman and Caitlin Thomas; The Dust Mother by Jarrett Murray; Island Time by Danielle Koenig and Asher Muldoon; Just Outside by Emily Boyd Dahab and Allison Kraus; The Keeper by Maxwell Carmel; Our Own Odyssey by Chris Rivera and Joe Montoya; Steak! by Brooke di Spirito and Louis Josephson; and The Trouble with Time Travel: A Choose-Your-Own-Adventure Musical by Dan Caprera and Ryan Jacobs.
Directors and music directors for the festival include Asher Denburg, Ryan Dobrin, Jacinth Greywoode, Minhui Lee, Logan Reed, and others, with stage management by Amber R. Dettmers.
