SHADOWLAND STAGES is gearing up for the world premiere of Dan Lauria's funny and poignant new play, JUST ANOTHER DAY, on the MainStage at SHADOWLAND STAGES from June 2nd to June 18th.
Jennifer Campos Productions celebrated the opening of Talene Monahon's JANE ANGER or The Lamentable Comedie of JANE ANGER, that Cunning Woman, and also of Willy Shakefpeare and his Peasant Companion, Francis, Yes and Also of Anne Hathaway (also a Woman) Who Tried Very Hard at Bobos.
The presenters have been selected for the upcoming second season of 2ND ACT, the Palace Theater's acclaimed speaker's series that features stories by people post age 50, who are doing some extraordinary things after mid-life. Among them is Pat Addiss, a Broadway producer based in New York who will kick the series off on September 17 with her presentation, Necessity is the Mother of Reinvention and Lisa Lampanelli, formerly known for her acerbic comedic style, who is now a life coach. She'll be presenting her new show Losin' It on the main stage of the theater on November 16.
Mark William returned, by popular demand, with yet another encore performance of his critically acclaimed, sold-out solo nightclub debut 'Come Croon With Me' on Friday June 7th at The Green Room 42. Putting his own unique, youthful spin on golden age crooner styling, Mark performed a collection of classic tunes from Broadway and The Great American Songbook.
WORKING 2020, presented by The Actors Gym, in association with the Whitefire Theatre, was created and written by Academy Award winner Bobby Moresco (Crash, Million Dollar Baby), and members of the Actors Gym, produced by Bryan Rasmussen, Bobby Moresco, and Steven Christopher Parker. Working 2020 explores what work means to different people in different circumstances in the U.S. today, adding new characters, and this time focusing on the sadly relevant slide from middle to working class.
The York Theatre Company recently presented its one-night only concert version of the newly re-imagined version of the beloved Broadway hit musical I Do! I Do!, with book and lyrics by Tom Jones and music by Harvey Schmidt, based on the play The Fourposter by Jan De Hartog. York Theatre favorite David Glenn Armstrong (Roadside, Happy Hunting) directed with music direction by David Hancock Turner (York's Desperate Measures).

The Off Broadway Alliance, an organization of Off-Broadway producers, theaters, general managers, press agents, and marketing professionals, just presented the 8th Annual Off-Broadway Alliance Awards, honoring commercial and not-for-profit productions that opened Off-Broadway during the 2017-2018 season. Winners included: Desperate Measures (Best New Musical), Transfers (Best New Play), The Government Inspector (Best Revival), KPOP (Best Unique Theatrical Experience), Billy Crudup, Harry Clarke (Best Solo Performance), Polka Dots: The Cool Kids Musical(Best Family Show).
