Oliver Farnworth

Farnworth trained at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Before beginning his television career, he appeared on stage in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and The London Plays, written by Ed Hime and directed by Kelly Wilkinson. He made his television debut in Hollyoaks, playing Will Hackett from 2006 to 2007. He also appeared in three episodes of ITV's medical drama The Royal from 2008 to 2009, playing Neville Cartwright.

In 2008, Farnworth played the leading role in Saturday Night and Sunday Morning at Harrogate Theatre and portrayed Lysander in the British Shakespeare Company's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. In 2009, he appeared in The Merchant of Venice at Penshurst Place Gardens in Kent. In April 2010, he joined the West End production of Holding the Man at the Trafalgar Theatre.

In 2012, Farnworth appeared in an episode of the BBC medical drama Doctors as Tom Davis. He made his feature film debut in 2013, playing Tony in Beautiful Thing. In 2014, he portrayed Florian Dupont in the television series Mr Selfridge and appeared in the short film Canned as Craig. That year, he joined the cast of Coronation Street as Andy Carver, a role he played from 2014 to 2017. His final storyline aired in October 2017.

In 2018, Farnworth appeared as Scott Hipwell in the film The Girl on the Train. In 2019, he played PC Rich Potter in the episode "Confection" of the television series Endeavour and portrayed Thomas in the film Love Type D.

In 2024, Farnworth joined the cast of Emmerdale as John Sugden. His first episode aired on Aug. 7, 2024. He received a nomination for Best Newcomer at the 2025 TV Choice Awards for his work on the series. He was also nominated for Best Villain at the 2025 Inside Soap Awards.
