Kings Theatre will host MICHAEL K. WILLIAMS: A NIGHT OF CELEBRATION on Tuesday, September 27 at 7PM. The event will honor the life and work of the beloved late actor/activist and mark the release of his memoir, SCENES FROM MY LIFE, published by Crown/Random House and written by Michael K. Williams and Jon Sternfeld.

Two legends in experimental theater – the iconic writer/director Martha Clarke and the Tony Award-winning La MaMa ETC – will collaborate for the first time when La MaMa presents the world premiere of Ms. Clarke’s newest full-length work, GOD’S FOOL.

Today, The Bentonville Film Festival unveiled their distinguished Competition Jury, singularly dedicated to inclusive representation in media and entertainment. The festival, produced by the BFFoundation and chaired by Academy Award-winning Actor Geena Davis, will take place in-person June 22-26 and virtually June 22-July 3. The illustrious group of jurors is composed of award-winning producers, directors, actors and authors, including actor Yolonda Ross, film and television producer Bird Runningwater, actor Shohreh Aghdashloo, writer and filmmaker Justine Bateman, among others. The Paley Center for Media announces today its month-long celebration of Black History Month,  Paley Center's Salute to Black Achievements in Television presented by Citi. The Paley Center is celebrating the legacy of achievements of iconic Black on-screen talent, creatives, and influencers in television, past and present, from Saturday, February 5 through Sunday, February 27 at the Paley Museum in New York City.

The North Fork TV Festival announced today Tony Nominated and Emmy and Grammy Award winner Christopher Jackson has been named this year’s Ambassador to the Arts recipient. A formal dinner ceremony will take place on Thursday, August 5 at American Beech in Greenport, NY beginning at 6:30pm.

The Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) is honored to present a 2020 “Made in NY” Award to Jeffrey Wright, the actor, philanthropist, and proud resident of Brooklyn, New York, whose organization, Brooklyn For Life! supports local businesses and serves meals to first responders.

The film was written by Madison Turner, a former stuntman-turned-action screenwriter. He previously set up his Blacklist script The Liberators at Warner Bros. with Michael B. Jordan's Outlier Society and Safehouse Pictures attached. He is currently rewriting an adaptation of Ed Brubaker's Kill or Be Killed for Thunder Road (John Wick, Sicario).
