The Cypress College Theatre Department is opening their new season with the horror musical, Carrie. Based on the classic '70s horror film, Carrie tells the story of a bullied teenage girl, who discovers she has special powers.

H*tler’s Tasters, a new play by award-winning playwright Michelle Kholos Brooks (War Words, Kalamazoo) and directed by Sarah Norris (Everything is Super Great, This Wrestling Place), will play a four-week Off-Broadway engagement, April 14 through May 7, at Theatre Row, Theatre One (410 West 42nd Street, NYC).

Sheila Heti's critically acclaimed, best-selling novel, MOTHERHOOD, has been optioned for a stage adaptation by New Light Theater Project and Executive Producer Ben Folds. THIS WRESTLING PLACE, the play will be adapted and directed by Sarah Norris with original music and movement by Emma Sandall.

New Light Theater Project presents Brecht: Call and Respond (an evening of three one-acts), featuring The Jewish Wife by  Bertolt Brecht with the commissioned one-acts Self Help in the Anthropocene by Kristin Idaszak and Sunset Point by Arlene Hutton.  Directed by Jerry Heymann, Brecht: Call and Respond (an evening of three one-acts) begins performances on Thursday, January 30 for a limited engagement through Saturday, February 15.  Press opening is Sunday, February 2 at 3 pm.  The performance schedule is Wednesday a?" Friday at 7:30 pm, Saturday at 2 pm & 7:30 pm, and Sunday at 3 pm. New Light Theater Project announces their 7th season with two NYC premieres and a remount of last spring's sold-out run of IMAGINING MADOFF.

Tony Award-winning producer Michael Rubenstein (Pippin), along with producers Robin Milling (Less Than 50%) of Trilliant Entertainment Group, and Stephanie Rosenberg (Moulin Rouge) of The Empress Productions LLC will present an industry reading of Carol of Carroll Gardens by playwright Bob Stewart on June 17, 2019.
