Michael A Ferrara Biography

Originally from Palm City, Florida, Michael A. Ferrara is a versatile and eclectic musician, equally at home in such diverse roles as conducting symphonic repertoire and performing in musical theater and opera pit orchestras. Having studied trumpet performance at Interlochen Arts Academy, Ferrara went on to study piano with Leon Fleisher student, Suzanne Newcomb, at Otterbein University in Ohio—where he also served as the founder of the school’s new music ensemble, Red Noise, and produced, conducted and performed several multimedia events. He went on to complete a M.M. in Orchestral Conducting at Bard College-Conservatory of Music, where he studied with faculty such as Harold Farberman, Joan Tower, and Dawn Upshaw to name a few. As both an orchestral and choral member, Ferrara has had the pleasure to work under conductors such as Leon Botstein, Jeffrey Malarsky, Adam Fischer, and James Bagwell spanning a wide range of orchestral literature. Ferrara currently resides in New York City. Hailed as “impressive” [Cabaret Scenes], Ferrara can also be seen teaching at CAP21 (Molloy College's Musical Theater program) as well as Pace University and New York Conservatory for the Dramatic Arts. BWW Review: TYCE GREEN: DOING THE MOST is Too Much and Not Enough at 54 Below Photo BWW Review: TYCE GREEN: DOING THE MOST is Too Much and Not Enough at 54 Below
by Ricky Pope - Mar 8, 2022

Tyce Green is an artist of great vocal dexterity who is delightful to listen to. An alumnus of American Idol and a cast member of the tour of Jesus Christ Superstar, his voice soars to the rafters.  He has a personality that is charming, touching, irreverent, and vulnerable by turns. He is a deft mimic and is possessed of a quick wit that is for the most part self-deprecating.  He is smart, politically astute, and in spite of claiming to be socially awkward has the ability to dominate a room with his presence. His 54 Below show, TYCE GREEN: DOING THE MOST has been crafted to showcase his humor, his pyrotechnic singing, and his dual love of musical theatre fandom and true old-school rocker tunes. His show was stuffed full of an embarrassment of riches that display his many versatile talents.
