Lana Schwartz BIO

Lana Schwartz is a 17-year-old performer and producer. Favorite roles include Dot in Sunday In The Park With George, Fanny Brice in Funny Girl, Christine in Be More Chill and Charity in Sweet Charity. She was recently chosen as a soloist in a concert with members of the NY Pops, conducted by Jason Robert Brown.
Lana is currently a 12th grader studying in high school at the Professional Performing Arts School (PPAS) in New York City. She is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA and Actors' Equity.
In 2019, Lana launched the non-profit venture Nxt Generation Theatrics, a theater company run for teens, by teens. All functions related to both the organization and its productions are performed by teenagers. The organization was formed in order to create more opportunities to empower teens and to help the next generation gain experience and exposure to the arts by jumping in and managing every aspect of creating a theatrical experience. Lana produced and directed their first production, NEXT TO NORMAL in June of 2022. She produced two virtual concerts during the pandemic on Zoom, featuring performances by more than 20 rising teenage talents. They were featured on the ABC news. The Museum of Jewish Heritage to Present TO PAINT THE EARTH Concert in May

The Museum of Jewish Heritage - A Living Memorial to the Holocaust will present a one-night-only concert version of Richard Rodgers Award-winning musical TO PAINT THE EARTH.  The concert, which will honor the 80th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, will take place on May 4th, 2023 at 7 PM ET in the Museum's Edmond J. Safra Hall.  The musical, about the events leading up to the historic decision to fight back, features book and lyrics by Daniel F. Levin and music by Jonathan Portera, and will be directed by Tony Award nominee Marcia Milgrom Dodge (Ragtime).

The Fifth Annual CHANUKAHSTRAVAGANZA Comes to Littlefield December 1

The Fifth Annual Chanukahstravaganza, this year at littlefield on Wednesday, December 1 at 8 p.m and hosted by Lana Schwartz (The New Yorker, The Hairpin) and Ilana Michelle Rubin (MTV, Reductress). All proceeds from the show go to the Holocaust Survivor Initiative and the show has sold out each of its past iterations. Proof of vaccination is required for entry.
