Westport Country Playhouse is staging the comic satire, ‚ÄúStraight White Men,‚Ä̬†by Young Jean Lee, from now through June 5, directed by Mark Lamos, Playhouse artistic director.¬†The show‚Äôs 2018 Broadway run made Lee the first Asian American female playwright to have a work produced there.

Westport Country Playhouse will stage the comic satire, ‚ÄúStraight White Men,‚Ä̬†by¬†Young Jean Lee, from May 24 through June 5, directed by Mark Lamos, Playhouse artistic director.¬†The show‚Äôs 2018 Broadway run made Lee the first Asian American female playwright to have a work produced there.¬†The cast includes Richard Kline, who was a series regular on television‚Äôs ‚ÄúThree‚Äôs Company‚ÄĚ as Larry Dallas. The production reunites Kline and Lamos, who were classmates at Northwestern University. Others in the ensemble are Bill Army, Denver Milord, Nick Westrate,¬†Akiko Akita, and Ashton Mu√Īiz.

Ars Nova is extending the world premiere commission of Oratorio for Living Things to May 15. Composed by Obie Award-winner and 2015 & 2016 Ars Nova resident artist Heather Christian and directed by Obie Award-winner Lee Sunday Evans, the event fuses music and theater, surrounding the audience with 18 virtuosic singers and instrumentalists.

Getty Villa Theater Lab presents Cassandra, an Agony, a kinetic adaptation of the Greek myth of Cassandra, a woman gifted with knowledge of the future yet cursed never to be believed. Created by New York-based theater company Sinking Ship Productions, performances will take place at the Getty Villa on Saturday, April 30 at 1 and 4 p.m. and Sunday, May 1 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $7.
