Children’s Theatre Company(CTC) has announced that Peter Brosius, Artistic Director has decided to depart CTC on June 30, 2024, at the end of the 2023-24 Season. His artistic vision has transformed the theatre into the nation’s leading theatre that serves a multi-generational audience.

TOY presents THE SNOWY DAY AND OTHER STORIES BY EZRA JACK KEATS, sponsored by M&T Bank, which runs from January 13-February 5, 2023. This production is geared for children ages 5+ and their families.

The enchanting moments of a child's world will be lovingly and humorously displayed when Magik Theatre presents The Snowy Day and Other Stories by Ezra Jack Keats from Feb. 12 to March 19, 2022. The musical play will be adapted for the stage by Jerome Hairston and produced by special arrangement with Plays for New Audiences, a division of Children's Theatre Company.

The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park will partner with community centers throughout the region to present THE SNOWY DAY AND OTHER STORIES BY EZRA JACK KEATS as part of the Playhouse’s virtual Off the Hill series. The professionally filmed theatrical performance will be available for streaming for free on weekends from Feb. 12 to 28.

The Covid 19 pandemic has halted live performances from Kansas City to Broadway, and all around the world. The Coterie Theatre has joined the ever-growing number of theatrical companies that are bringing their performances to their audiences virtually, with their production of THE SNOWY DAY AND OTHER STORIES BY EZRA JACK KEATS. It's popular not only for the way it evokes the wonder and innocence of childhood but for breaking the color barrier in children's literature. 

Adventure Theatre MTC brings audiences in from the cold with stories of Peter and friends in The Snowy Day and Other Stories by Ezra Jack Keats directed by Victoria Murray Baatin. O'Brien Entertainment has announced the new cast for its remounted production of The Snowy Day and Other Stories by Ezra Jack Keats at St. Luke's Theatre. Adapted for the stage by Jerome Hairston with music by Victor Zupanc, the show is inspired by four of Keats' most beloved stories, including the 1963 Caldecott Award-winning picture book, The Snowy Day.

Since 1984, more than five million children, students, and families have been inspired and delighted by the live theater performances of Dallas Children's Theater (DCT). To celebrate 35 years of unmatched service to North Texas and beyond, DCT is announcing a season lineup comprised of large-scale world premieres and timeless throwbacks.  The season opens with a new and reimagined telling of Treasure Island on September 23. Produced in collaboration with three other towering Dallas based companies in their respective fields of expertise, the new telling is expected to draw all ages into the popular pirate world.

What perfect timing! Kudos to Nashville Children's Theatre executive artistic director Ernie Nolan and education director Alicia Lark Fuss (who does double duty as director of the play) for their impeccable midwinter choice of A Snowy Day as the venerable company's first show of 2018. That they had frigid temperatures and snowy conditions to herald the opening of A Snowy Day, playwright Jerome Hairston's adaptation of four stories by Caldecott winner Ezra Jack Keats, was indeed serendipitous, lending some of Mother Nature's authenticity to the show's launch.

January 13, 2018, with an added performance on MLK Day, January 15th. Adapted for the stage by Jerome Hairston, with music by Victor Zupanc, the show is inspired by four of Keats' most beloved stories, including the 1963 Caldecott Award-winning The Snowy Day. The show celebrates the wonder of childhood in the city - from making tracks in the freshly fallen snow, to learning how to whistle, to imagining new worlds with a best friend who lives across the hall - these small moments of delight and joy are captured beautifully. Incorporating shadow puppets, songs, mime and humor, the 45 minute show for children will appeal to all ages.
