BIO

Jerome Brooks, Jr. is an ASCAP Plus 2025 Award Recipient. He performed as the featured artist on piano at New York Theatre Workshop’s Nat “King” Cole Night after the Off-Broadway show Lights Out: Nat “King” Cole. He released SONGS FOR MOM in 2025 featuring Grammy Winner & Tony Award Nominee Natasha Yvette Williams in memory of his late mother. This project was Mastered By Mark B. Christensen who has Mastered for Toni Braxton, Fergie, Boyz II Men, The Killers, SZA, Trey Songz, and 50 Cent. He joined the Recording Academy as a Voting Member in 2008 & has written, produced, engineered, & performed as an Artist on over a dozen projects in various genres like Progressive R&B, Gospel, Musical Theater, Pop & Urbano Latino which can be found on all streaming platforms. He’s done studio work with Emmy Winner RuPaul, and co-wrote the 2011 Musical Soundtrack Love Happened By Chance feat Ayana George from MJ on Broadway.
Tony Winner Tonya Pinkins directed staged readings of his show COMMITTED The Musical at Musical Theatre Factory & Emerging Artists Theatre. He’s a 2022 Outstanding Musical Director AUDELCO Award Nominee for BLACK LOVE at the Black Spectrum Theatre. His big screen debut was Josh McKee in Art = (Love)2. He was the Dueling Piano Player in Amazon’s Z: The Beginning Of Everything. He was the Choir Director & Vocal Arranger for POWER Season 5 Episode 1. He’s the 2020 recipient of the Anna Sosenko Assist Trust & a 2021 City Artist Corps Grant Recipient for his musical SOCIAL DISTANCE which had a SOLD OUT One Night presentation at The Players Theatre. He can be seen as the keyboardist in commercials & on the cover of the Rock Band 3 video game. He’s a member of The Dramatists Guild, SAG-AFTRA & AEA with a BFA in Music Theatre /Piano Minor from Shenandoah University Conservatory. Off-Broadway he contributed additional arrangements to Grammy & Tony Winner Duncan Sheik’s Mother Courage and Her Children. He performed at Carnegie Hall, the Lincoln Center as a New Song Original Music Finalist, LA’s Taste of Soul Festival, The Apollo, The Triad, Iguana Club, Sugar Bar, Symphony Space, AUDELCO Awards, in Switzerland, Japan, Germany, Austria and Turkey. His compositions are all available to stream.

The Indie Collaborative Will Bring an All Holiday Show to the Green Room 42

THE INDIE COLLABORATIVE returns to New York City on Monday night, December 4 to celebrate the holiday season in grand musical style at one of New York's most exciting nightclubs, The Green Room 42. A cast of award-winning artists from the Classical, Broadway, American Roots, Jazz, and Global Music worlds will take the stage to honor Hanukkah, Christmas, Diwali, Kwanzaa, and the Winter Solstice in song and dance, beginning at 7 PM.

Musical Theatre Composer, Jerome Brooks, Jr. is one of 500 New York City-based artists to receive $5,000 through the City Artist Corps Grants program, presented by The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA), with support from the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) as well as Queens Theatre.

The story is about Jazz Johnson a black male and aspiring Broadway pianist in New York who is committed to playing music of all genres for his friends until he finds himself committed to the psych ward. On January 18th, 2019, Dixon Place presents, 'Committed: The Musical Unplugged' at 7:30 p.m., concert of the first 45-minutes in The Lounge located at 161A Chrystie Street in New York 10002. Tickets are $13 in advance and $15 at the door.
