The Indie Collaborative Will Bring an All Holiday Show to the Green Room 42

THE INDIE COLLABORATIVE returns to New York City on Monday night, December 4 to celebrate the holiday season in grand musical style at one of New York's most exciting nightclubs, The Green Room 42. A cast of award-winning artists from the Classical, Broadway, American Roots, Jazz, and Global Music worlds will take the stage to honor Hanukkah, Christmas, Diwali, Kwanzaa, and the Winter Solstice in song and dance, beginning at 7 PM.

Full Cast Announced For A LITTLE NEW MUSIC at the Catalina Jazz Club

After a two year intermission due to the COVID-19 pandemic, A Little New Music is back at Hollywood's historic Catalina Jazz Club with a fresh look at new musical theatre material. Audiences of A Little New Music's concert series will once again discover a distinguished variety of artists and a diverse assortment of songs intent on becoming future classics of the American musical theatre.

Black Spectrum Theatre Company Presents MAMAlogues

The Black Spectrum Theatre Company, Inc., nurturing a new generation of artists for the 21st century, and Executive Producer Carl Clay will present MAMAlogues, a contemporary new work written by Dr. Lisa Thompson. Directed by BSTC's Resident Director Bette Howard, the production runs from Thursday, November 11 through Saturday, November 20, 2021, at the theatre located at 177th St. & Baisley Blvd., Jamaica, NY.

Musical Theatre Composer, Jerome Brooks, Jr. Recognized With $5,000 City Artists Corps Grant

Musical Theatre Composer, Jerome Brooks, Jr. is one of 500 New York City-based artists to receive $5,000 through the City Artist Corps Grants program, presented by The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA), with support from the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) as well as Queens Theatre. 

Musical Theatre Composer, Jerome Brooks Jr. Recognized with City Artists Corp Grant

Over the course of three award cycles, more than 3,000 artists will receive $5,000 grants to engage the public with artist activities across New York City's five boroughs this summer and fall. Artists can use the grant to create new work or phase of a work, or restage preexisting creative activities across any discipline.

Dixon Place Presents COMMITTED: THE MUSICAL UNPLUGGED

'Committed: The Musical Unplugged' written and directed by, Jerome Brooks, Jr. is based on true events with fictional elements. The story is about Jazz Johnson a black male and aspiring Broadway pianist in New York who is committed to playing music of all genres for his friends until he finds himself committed to the psych ward. On January 18th, 2019, Dixon Place presents, 'Committed: The Musical Unplugged' at 7:30 p.m., concert of the first 45-minutes in The Lounge located at 161A Chrystie Street in New York 10002. Tickets are $13 in advance and $15 at the door.

DIXON PLACE, presents Marcus Scott's Tumbleweed on August 24, 2018 through August 26, 2018 (performances take place Today & Saturday, August 24 & 25 at 8:00pm & Sunday, August, 26 at 2:00 pm). Following an interracial family living in a townhouse within the Morningside Park area of New York's Upper West Side over the course of a weekend, TUMBLEWEED is a slice of life drama about a young girl named Willow whose off-putting natural hair combined with both her family's open acceptance of it and lack of maintenance, as well as her blooming womanism, causes controversy in the household.

The Musical Theatre Factory (MTF), under the leadership of founding Artistic Director Shakina Nayfack and Managing Director Danny Abosch, announces its fall season dedicated to the development of new musical theatre. Musical Theatre Factory operates as a volunteer-based cooperative of artists and arts administrators committed to a process of peer evaluation and the cultivation of new work, free from the pressures of critical or commercial success.
