Jeremy Robin Lyons Biography

Jeremy Robin Lyons is a highly versatile music director, conductor, pianist, and arranger who has been recognized for his passion and facility in a wide variety of styles and musical environments.

Jeremy most recently served as Conductor and Music Director for the 2021-2023 National Tour of Anastasia.

Before Anastasia, Jeremy served as Score Supervisor and Associate Music Director/Conductor for the world premiere of Kerrigan & Lowdermilk’s original off-Broadway musical The Mad Ones.

Prior to The Mad Ones, Jeremy served as the Keyboard 1 player for the 2015-2017 National Tour of The Sound of Music. Playing over 50 cities, Jeremy enjoyed conducting the orchestra on numerous occasions, including multiple times at The Kennedy Center.

As an arranger, Jeremy’s accomplishments include orchestrating The Songs of Henry Krieger as part of Lincoln Center’s American Songbook series, and contributing orchestrations to Getting to Know You: The Music of Rodgers & Hammerstein as part of the Lyrics & Lyricists series at the 92nd Street Y. Jeremy’s arrangements have also been frequently heard at 54 Below, Joe’s Pub, and in the New York Musical Festival. His choral arrangement of Joe Iconis’ Broadway, Here I Come! is published and available online.

Right before going on tour with The Sound of Music, Jeremy served as pianist for The Sound of Music 50th Anniversary Festival, culminating with the world premiere performance of The Sound of Music Suite at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria. The previous spring, Jeremy had the honor of conducting a small orchestra in a presentation by Gotham Radio Theatre celebrating the music of Bernard Herrmann, in the Bruno Walter Auditorium located in the Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center. Other music direction credits include Much Ado About Nothing at Barrington Stage Company, Next to Normal with Musically Human Theatre Productions, a special celebration of the work of Maltby & Shire at 54 Below, and several concerts curated by William Finn, both at 54 Below and at Barrington Stage Company. Also at Barrington, Jeremy served as pianist and Assistant Music Director for Fiddler on the Roof, and the pre-Broadway production of On the Town.

Jeremy is enthusiastic about helping to develop new work. He has worked as Music Director and arranger for many iterations of JUNK: A Rock Opera, written by the Swedish pop band Brainpool and featured in recent presentations at Joe’s Pub, The National Opera Center, and Musical Theatre Factory, as well as a writing workshop at the Drama League. Jeremy enjoys an ongoing collaborative relationship with Kerrigan & Lowdermilk, having served as Music Director and Score Supervisor for multiple workshops of their immersive musical The Bad Years, and as both Score Supervisor and either Music Director or Associate Music Director for multiple readings of their musical based on Shakespeare’s Henry V, Republic.

Jeremy is thrilled to have had opportunities to serve as Music Director for shows for the cabaret and concert stage, collaborating with artists such as powerhouse vocalist Tal Yardeni (pop/rock concerts at 54 Below featuring music by Florence and the Machine and Jessie J), swing all-stars Daniella Dalli and Adam Hill (The Swings of Music at the Curtain Call Lounge in St. Louis and Martinis Above Fourth in San Diego), and writer/performer/activist Shakina Nayfack (One Woman Show at Joe’s Pub, 54 Below, Sophie’s at Broadway, Barrington Stage Company, and Musical Theater Factory).

Jeremy has served as a recurring rehearsal pianist and singing member of Judith Clurman’s Essential Voices USA, the chorus currently in residence with the NY Pops at Carnegie Hall.

Jeremy is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where he earned a Master’s degree in Orchestral Conducting.
