Get ready for summertime fun as New York City  is set to host the free and 3rd Annual International Puppet Fringe Festival from August 9 –13, 2023, in the Lower East Side.

Puppets Come Home! at Coney Island kicks off its fifth season with a screening of Heather Henson's HANDMADE PUPPET DREAMS film series on Friday, June 2nd, 8pm at Coney Island USA, 1208 Surf Ave, Brooklyn.

Travel with the cranes as they migrate across Turtle Island! Nebraska’s favorite bird takes center stage in this larger-than-life production featuring live music, dance, and some of the finest puppets in the world. The story features Native American/Indigenous artists, music, language, and culture with puppets created by the Jim Henson Creature Shop (creator of the Muppets).

Ajijaak on Turtle Island, a new family musical, will premiere at Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College as part of its second national tour.

Griffin Theatre Company has announced casting for its Midwest premiere of Marys Seacole by Pulitzer Prize winner Jackie Sibblies Drury, directed by Jerrell L. Henderson and Hannah Todd. Launching Griffin’s 33rd season, Marys Seacole will play October 1 – November 6, 2022 on Raven Theatre’s Schwartz Stage.

Due to multiple positive COVID-19 cases in the company and staff, New 42 announced that all remaining performances of Jim Henson’s Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas have been canceled. Performances were scheduled to play through January 2, 2022.

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center just held its Monte Cristo Award Gala last night at the Edison Ballroom- an event that featured opening remarks from composer, actor and Tony Award-winner, Lin-Manuel Miranda.  Academy Award-winning actor and O'Neill Center trustee, Michael Douglas presented the iconic statue to playwright and screenwriter John Logan, at the gala evening in celebration of Logan's many achievements.
