BIO
HAMISH MARISSEN-CLARK is a playwright, lyricist, actor, and theatre director whose work is characterized by its complex, sardonic undertones. He is the author and lyricist of the musical SELF-IMPROVEMENT AND MALE PRESERVATION SOCIETY (S.I.M.P.S.), which recently had a sold-out run featuring Cory Jeacoma, Aaron Harrington, and John El-Jor. In 2018, he was the national first-place winner of Poetry in Voice. A member of the Dramatists Guild, Marissen-Clark considers Jordan Tannahill, Stephen Sondheim, Michael R. Jackson, Daniel Fish, Peter Jorgensen, Anton Chekhov, Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, Sandra Ferens, and Brent Carver to be his biggest theatrical inspirations. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Theatre from Northwestern University, where he studied in Music Theatre Certificate Program and the Music Theatre Writing module.
