Gerald Kyd began his career on stage after being spotted by an agent immediately following graduation, spending seven months performing with the Royal Shakespeare Company. He gained wider recognition starring as Sean Maddox on the BBC medical drama Casualty from 1998 to 2000, returning to the role in 2006. His television credits also include Persons Unknown, The Bible, Sherlock, Silent Witness, Unforgotten, Doctor Who, The Split, Malory Towers, The Assassin, the Netflix miniseries Hostage, and Netflix's crime drama Legends. His film work includes Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life and The Principles of Lust. On stage, Kyd has appeared in productions including The Seagull, Love's Labour's Lost, Richard II, Edward II, The Three Musketeers, Blood and Gifts, The Real Thing, Richard III, Feed the Beast, and Hapgood.
