Shakespeare Dallas will present Twelfth Night and Scenes from The Odyssey by Mary Zimmerman adapted from the translation of “The Odyssey” by Robert Fitzgerald this summer as part of the beloved Dallas tradition, the 52nd Shakespeare in the Park festival.

Valley Youth Theatre (VYT) opens their 23rd production of A Winnie-the-Pooh Christmas Tail, this Today, November 30, at 7:30 pm, at Valley Youth Theatre. In addition to opening night, public performances include Saturdays and Sundays, December 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16 and 23 at 12:30 pm and 3:00 pm, as well as three performances on Saturday, December 22, at 11:00 am, 1:30 pm and 4:00 pm. The theatre is located at 525 North First Street, in Downtown Phoenix, and ticket prices begin at $17, when purchased as part of a 4-show package.

Corkscrew Theater Festival presents the world premiere of The End of Mermaids, written by Anya Richkind and directed by Allison Benko. Running July 12-22, The End of Mermaids is a sinister comedy about a group of women striving to achieve true beauty through their performances at a failing mermaid theme park, while under siege from an impatient, hungry alligator. The play includes several 'underwater performance' sequences, brought to life by inventive set, costume, lighting, and sound design. Performed by Isabella Dawis, Elizabeth Evans, Lindsey Spohler, and Maggie Thompson*, The End of Mermaids kicks off the second annual season of Corkscrew Theater Festival, a new summer theater festival that provides early-career artists with a high level of production support.

Theatre for a New Audience to Host Staged Reading of Bachman, Sokolow & Brown's IN REAL LIFE

Collaborators Trevor Bachman (The Nomad at The Flea Theater, Pyre Cantata at HERE Arts Center), Jonathan Sokolow (Bravo, Story Pirates), and Joshua Brown (Funny or Die, Night of the Living Beanie Babies) are at it again with an updated version of their new musical, IN REAL LIFE, presented this time at Theatre for a New Audience's Polonsky Shakespeare Center at 262 Ashland Pl on Tuesday, November 3rd. This is the second phase in the development of the piece, coming out of a successful reading at Tisch School of the Arts in late-May 2015. Producers, Zachary Infante (TFANA) and Sydney Blaxill (The Flea Theater), have organized a closed reading to present the new draft to designers and collaborators.
