For the members of the comedy troupe 'Asperger's Are Us,' it's easier to associate with a faceless audience than with their own families. No matter who the crowd, best friends Noah, New Michael, Jack and Ethan have one simple mantra: “We would much rather the audience appreciate us as comedians than people who have overcome adversity.”   In this coming-of-age heartfelt documentary, this band of brothers finds themselves at a crossroad. With real life pulling them apart, they decide to plan one ambitious farewell show before they all go their separate ways. People with Asperger's don't deal well with uncertainty, and this is the most uncertain time in their lives.

MetroStar Extends 2015 Submissions Deadline

The 2015 'MetroStar Talent Challenge' is extending its deadline for applications to July 4 and adding new mentoring to help competitors up their games during the 7-week contest. The eighth annual edition of the summer tradition runs for seven consecutive Mondays, from July 6 through August 17.  All contestants must certify that they will be available to compete throughout the jury-and audience-voted, elimination-round competition.

Jonathan Tolins, the author of Buyer & Cellar, will be a panelist on the Metropolitan Opera Quiz during the first intermission of this week's broadcast of Die Fledermaus. The new production of Strauss's operetta is performed in English with new dialogue by Broadway playwright Douglas Carter Beane, and features Tony Award winner Danny Burstein in the comic role of Frosch the jailer. This will be Tolins's second appearance on the Quiz after making his debut a year ago. Buyer & Cellar continues its record-breaking run at the Barrow Street Theatre off-Broadway and is currently selling tickets through April 13. The show will be produced later this year in Chicago, Los Angeles, and other cities to be announced.

48 solo singers are competing in the fifth annual "MetroStar Talent Challenge" at The Metropolitan Room, 34 West 22nd Street. The seven-week, jury-and audience-voted competition completes three weeks of trials next Monday July 23 (showtime at 7pm), after which the contest will announce the Top 18 contestants who will advance to the next round.

Songstress and performer Kate Dawson (who starred in A Christmas Carol at MSG for three seasons, and starred opposite Lucie Arnaz as Eileen in Wonderful Town in Los Angeles) is bringing her hit one-woman show THE A**HOLE IN MY HEAD to The Duplex 1/23 & 1/30, at 7PM this January. THE A**HOLE IN MY HEAD enjoyed a sold out show at Birdland Jazz Club last year and a sold out run in 2009 at The Triad Theatre, and The Duplex will provide a more intimate setting for Dawson's comedic and entertaining musical exploration of that annoying inner voice we all combat on a daily basis.
