David Hutchins

David Hutchins is a sound designer, sound engineer, and theater mentor based in Virginia, working with Four County Players. His work spans a range of productions, where he brings a strong focus on immersive audio storytelling and technical precision to the stage.

Recent credits include sound design and engineering for Sweeney Todd, as well as mentorship in sound design for youth productions such as I Have 99 Problems and Being a Teenager Is All of Them. Additional work includes productions of The Game’s Afoot, among others.

David is particularly passionate about using sound to shape atmosphere and narrative, drawing inspiration from both traditional theater techniques and modern digital tools. In addition to his production work, he is committed to mentoring young artists and helping develop the next generation of technical theater talent.

Outside of theater, David has a background in IT and systems design, which informs his approach to audio engineering, workflow design, and live production reliability.
