David Henderson Biography

DAVID HENDERSON is a Morehead Scholar graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill. Most recently he play David Frost for JTP’s “Frost/Nixon”. As a director, he led the inaugural production of “Twelfth Night” at Koka Booth as well as the following year’s production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. As an actor, he has appeared as Friar Laurence in “Romeo and Juliet,” Edward in “Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me,” Little Harp in “The Robber Bridegroom” and Mitch in “Tuesdays with Morrie” Other favorite roles include ---“Inherit the Wind” (Drummond), “1776” (John Adams), “The Dead” (Gabriel),”Tartuffe” (Tartuffe), “Company” (Bobby), “Rat in the Skull” (Roche), “Night and Day” (Wagner), “Einstein’s Dreams” (Besso), “The Weir” (Brendan), “A Doll’s House” (Thor), “The Steward of Christendom” “(Jim), “Winding the Ball” (Deemer), “Pentecost” (Czaba, et al), “Midsummer Night’s Dream” (Director), “Waiting for Godot” (Director), and the world premiere of “The Man Who Tried to Save the World” (Fred), the title roles in” Thyestes” and “Henry V”, Ansel in “Killer Joe”, Yvan in “Art”, Actor 1 in “Lebensraum” (REP), Rock in “Want’s Unwished Work “(Sacred Fools, LA), Vanya in “Uncle Vanya,” Sweeney in “Sweeney Todd”, Booth in “Assassins”, The Baker in “Into the Woods”, Bowers in “Terra Nova”, Weinberg in “A Few Good Men “and Bottom in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” For the past 19 years, he had the pleasure of playing Jacob Marley in Theatre in the Park’s annual production of A Christmas Carol.
