Interview: Jarius Miquel Cliett of THE BOOK OF MORMON at The Fox Theatre

The record-setting, multi-Tony Award winning musical THE BOOK OF MORMON will make its return to Atlanta from June 24 - 29 as the final production in the 2024 - 2025 Regions Bank Broadway in Atlanta season at The Fox Theatre. Among the cast is Jarius Miquel Cliett, who plays Mafala Hatimbi and who has deep roots in Atlanta. I had the chance to catch up with Jarius to discuss his journey in the theatre, his experiences with the show, and his excitement about performing for a hometown crowd.

Trey and Matt infamously created the SOUTH PARK animated series, and Robert Lopez helped conceive the puppet comedy AVENUE Q. They took eight years to develop this one (small workshops that progressively grew larger), which finally opened on Broadway in 2011, launching the careers of Andrew Rannells and Josh Gad.

NETworks Presentations and the producers of THE BOOK OF MORMON North American Tour have announced new casting as the musical prepares for another season on the road. Winner of nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical, THE BOOK OF MORMON launched a new North American tour in September 2022, playing more than 50 cities since then. New cities for the 2023-2024 season include Providence, Ft. Lauderdale, Seattle, Boston, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Washington DC, San Antonio, and many more.
