Spectrum Theatre Ensemble (STE) in Providence along with the Die-Cast Collective in Philadelphia present the fourth annual Neurodiversity New Play Festival (NNPF) from September 7 - 9, 2023 at various venues in the Jewelry District in Providence. 

Spectrum Theatre Ensemble in Providence along with New York's Epic Players and Die-Cast in Philadelphia present the third annual Neurodiversity New Play Festival from August 8 – 13, 2022 at the Social Enterprise Greenhouse in Providence.

Artists from around the country will collaborate to write, perform and produce new plays to be held in Providence on July 30, July 31, and August 1, featuring world premieres of 10-minute plays, full-length plays, and other selections.

Over the past year, Spectrum Theatre Ensemble has been exploring how an organization can grow in ways that prioritize neurodiversity and take advantage of the ever-changing theatrical landscapes.

Spectrum Theatre Ensemble has announced the appointment of Laura Cornwall as the company's first Executive Director. Cornwall joins Artistic Director Clay Martin as the company expands its organizational structure following a year-long strategic planning process.

Spectrum Theatre Ensemble (STE) of Providence will present ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST, adapted by Dale Wasserman, from the novel by Ken Kesey, and directed by Clay B. Martin (Providence). The play tells the story of institutional madness where obedience and conformity are the only acceptable indications of good mental health. Randle P. McMurphy, a charismatic rogue, instantly questions the procedures of the asylum, a system at odds with the individual. The 'system' is most clearly represented by cold and calculating Nurse Ratched, and the play is presented from the perspective of Chief Bromden, who views the asylum as a giant machine that was built to control him and his fellow inmates.

In support of its commitment to theater for all, Trinity Repertory Company announces its May 26, 2:00 pm Sensory-Friendly PLUS performance of Ragtime. Designed to meet the needs of children and adults on the autism spectrum, and/or individuals with sensory processing disorders or other cognitive disabilities, this sensory-friendly performance features modified sound, lighting and other adjustments. Patrons are invited to make sounds, enter and exit as needed during the performance and enjoy the show with their families.

A South African Hamlet performed in a shallow tank of water at Fisherman's Wharf. A drum-fueled, outdoor production of Ten Blocks on the Camino Real imported from Ghana. Pericles staged on board the 66-foot Rose Dorothea fishing schooner. 

In support of its commitment to theater for all, Trinity Repertory Company announces a series of moderately-adjusted performances of every show in the 2017-2018 season to meet the needs of audience members with autism and/or with sensory-processing disorders.
