SUMMERWORKS FESTIVAL Unveils Initial Casting For 2026

Clubbed Thumb has announced initial casting for its 2026 SUMMERWORKS festival. The annual festival of new plays will take place at the wild project in New York City. The lineup will include three productions running throughout the summer.

THE BRICK in Brooklyn, NY will present the World Premiere production of ASHKENAZI SEANCE, written by Sarah Sanders, directed by Daniel Krane, with music by Sofia Geck, from July 20-23. ASHKENAZI SEANCE will be performed at The Brick on Wednesday, July 20 at 8pm, Thursday, July 21 at 8pm, Friday, July 22 at 8pm, and Saturday, July 23 at 2pm and 8pm.

Playwrights Horizons will present Will Arbery’s Corsicana, directed by Sam Gold, June 2–July 10 (opening June 22) in the Mainstage Theater. In Corsicana, a small city in Texas, a woman with Down syndrome named Ginny and her half-brother Christopher are unmoored in the wake of their mother’s death.
2021 Drama League Awards to be Pre-Recorded and Streamed on May 21

The Drama League will present the 87th Drama League Awards, which will be pre-recorded and streamed on May 21, 2021. The nomination process, which will focus on extraordinary digital theatrical productions during the shutdown of live performance and identifying individuals and organizations that made an impact in the last year, is currently underway.
