BIO
Bryan Pangilinan is a vocalist, composer, and performing artist in San Francisco, CA. Trained in rondalla music by Bayani Mendoza de Leon, Bryan has music directed Filipino folk dance performances locally and internationally as Music Director with the LIKHA Pilipino Folk Ensemble. As a performer, he was recently featured as Tatsuo Kimura in the Bay Area premiere of Allegiance. Bryan is an artist-in-residence at Brava Theater and is a 2020 and 2021 San Francisco Arts Commission artist grantee to compose “Larry the Musical" about the life of Filipino American labor leader Larry Itliong. "Larry the Musical" will have its theatrical premiere at in March 2024 at Brava Theater in San Francisco. A professional fundraiser for more than 25 years, he combines his passion for social justice and the arts to support and grow programs that amplify the voices of underrepresented communities. Bryan holds degrees in ethnic studies from the University of California San Diego and music from San Francisco State University.
