BAT BOY: The Musical was the first production at The Kaleidoscope in 2014 and after two years in their beautiful "Off-Broadway" space, the newly redefined company has chosen to remount the musical as they begin a new era of cutting edge theatre in the heart of downtown Houston. Well- versed in the creation of great theatre in Houston, Lumpkin and Wisnoski join The Kaleidoscope after serving as Artistic Director and Associate Artistic Director of Theatre Under the Stars. The addition of the company's newest creatives marks the first of many rapid developments for The Kaleidoscope Theater (previously known as Bayou City Theatrics) and for the future of the Houston theatre scene.

Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) announced the cancellation of the 14th annual Tommy Tune Awards ceremony yesterday due to Houston's emergency level of flooding. However, the winners of the Tommy Tune Awards, along with scholarship recipients, were announced on the Tommy Tune Awards Facebook page at 8 p.m. yesterday evening by MC Sarah Pepper of Hot 95.7.

The cast of the Walnut Street Theatre's production of 'Grease' created a music video to pay tribute to the city of Philadelphia - the birthplace of America and home of the oldest theatre in the country - just in time for Independence Day! Directed and choreographed by Adolpho Blaire, who plays Roger in the production, the video takes viewers on a tour of some of the most famous sites in the city of Brotherly Love including Love Park, Independence Hall, the 'Rocky Steps' at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and even backstage at the 204 year old Theatre. The cast goes sightseeing and eventually dances through the streets to a disco-crazed version of 'Yankee Doodle Dandy' by Paul Jabara. The original tune, incidentally, was sung by George M. Cohan himself in 1904 at the Walnut Street Theatre in 'Little Johnny Jones' before it's opening on Broadway. Click below to watch the video!
