BRAATA PRODUCTIONS has announced this year's BANKRA, a multidisciplinary Caribbean Culture Festival celebrating Dominica, Bahamas and St. Kitts & Nevis the three islands that will be centered with this year's Braata programming, and as always Jamaica.

The Braata Folk Singers, a performing arts group based in New York City that specializes in the traditional music and folklore of the Caribbean, presents CARIBBEAN BLEND June 3-4, 2023. The group, as part of Braata Productions, was founded in 2009 by Andrew Clarke, a Jamaican-born actor, singer, and director.

Carmelo Anthony joined the team of The Harder They Come at the Public Theater as an executive producer. Anthony’s long-time business partner Asani Swann will also serve as an executive producer on the show.

The world premiere musical THE HARDER THEY COME, an adaptation of the classic Jamaican film, has extended through Sunday, April 2 at The Public Theater. 

Beginning on Thursday, February 16, theatergoers will be able to visit Wheel and Come Again: The 50th Anniversary Art Exhibition of The Harder They Come on The Public Theater’s Levin Mezzanine, an exhibition of art inspired by the original film.
