Casting Notice AUDITIONS FOR WRINKLES - A NEW “OLD” MUSICAL Producer Greg Evans (Creator of the Luann Comic Strip) and Dan Mojica (Director) is seeking musical theatre talent for WRINKLES, A NEW “OLD” MUSICAL.

WRINKLES is a funny, clever and poignant look at the challenges and joys of the Golden Years. In this laugh-out-loud musical, three senior couples share one extraordinary day together. It's a must-see show for anyone who's lucky enough to have wrinkles - or hopes to!

STAFF Producer/Book, Music & Lyrics by Greg Evans Directed by Dan Mojica Musical Arrangements and Musical Direction by Justin Gray Scenic Design by Mike Buckley Lighting Design by Jennifer Edwards-Northover Costume Design by Sharrell Martin Sound Design by Patrick Hoyny OPENS - Wednesday August 8th for 15 performances ONLY through August 26th at the WELK RESORT THEATRE, ESCONDIDO, CA.

REHEARSALS – Begin July 30th (with possible pre-rehearsals in early July). MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR ALL REHEARSALS AS THIS IS A SHORT REHEARSAL PERIOD.

AUDITIONS - Monday, June 18th, 10AM-2PM. Sign up begins at 9:30AM. Where: WELK RESORT THEATRE - 8860 Lawrence Welk Drive, Escondido, CA SAME DAY CALLBACKS. Be prepared to stay through callbacks if asked. Bring P/R, an uptempo and ballad, standard Musical Theatre-style songs that show PERSONALITY, CHARACTER AND VOICE in proper keys, accompanist provided. Sides will be provided for callbacks. NON-UNION, THERE IS WEEKLY PERFORMANCE AND REHEARSAL PAY! NO TRAVEL OR HOUSING.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN ALL CHARACTERS MUST BE TERRIFIC SINGERS, STRONG ACTORS AND BE ABLE TO MOVE OR DANCE. IDEALLY WE ARE LOOKING FOR REAL “SENIOR” ACTORS TO PLAY THESE ROLES AND BE CLOSE IN AGE RANGE OR LOOK. WE WILL SEE ACTORS OF ALL AGES WITH THE ABILITY TO PLAY OLDER REALISTICALLY AND HONESTLY WITHOUT TOO MUCH MAKEUP OR THEATRICAL MAGIC.

JUNE Age: 75 to 80. LEAD. Vocal Range – (Alto) low G-E A good-natured woman who faces the challenges of aging with grace and hope.

HANK Age: 75 to 80. LEAD. Vocal Range – (Baritone) low G-E June’s husband of 50 years, he tends to be pessimistic about getting old.

ARLENE Age: 80-85. SUPPORTING. Vocal Range – (Alto) A-E A feisty gal who refuses to be elderly. She’s splashy and colorful with big hair, big jewelry, big personality.

GUY Age: 80-85. SUPPORTING. Vocal Range – (Baritone) A-E Arlene’s hubby, he also clings to his youth, sporting wild clothes and a walker that’s colorfully festooned: horn, bell, pouch, flag, etc.

YOUNG FEMALE Age: 30-40.

ENSEMBLE/MULTIPLE ROLES. Vocal Range – (Soprano) Plays Young June, Doctor, and GRETA, a 90 year old who uses a cane. YOUNG MALE Age: 30-40. ENSEMBLE/MULTIPLE ROLES. Vocal Range – (Bari-Tenor) Plays Young Hank, Male Nurse and WILBUR, an old cowpoke with a slow, twangy drawl and Western attire.
