The Palace Theatre will close out its 2013-2014 Citizens Bank Performing Arts Series with MY MIXTAPE: The Sounds of the 80s. An original musical production conceived and directed by Artistic Director Carl Rajotte, MY MIXTAPE will explore the music from the 1980s [big hair bands to one-hit wonders] featuring professional singers, musicians and dancers from New York City. Audiences are encouraged to dress in their best parachute pants and relive favorite 80s music memories. The show opens tonight, June 6, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. runs through Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m.

Mary Gatchell is a singer/songwriter in NYC, a graduate of NYU, who performed with The Rolling Stones as back-up singer in their 50 th Anniversary tour in NYC for three concerts last year. Soon, Mary Gatchell will be coming on from NYC to teach the Sing Out I voice camp at Leddy Center, June 23-June 27, for 6 to 9 year olds, 3:30pm to 5:30pm at Leddy Center's beautiful theater on Ladd's Lane in Epping.

Pontine Theatre Receives $4,000 Grant

Thanks to a $4,000 grant from the Lincoln Financial Foundation, Pontine Theatre is presenting a new touring program, 'Isles of Shoals: Eternal Sound of the Sea' at assisted living communities, senior centers and nursing facilities throughout New Hampshire. The Isles of Shoals, an archipelago of nine rocky isles located six miles off the New Hampshire and Maine coast, were announced to the Western world in 1614 by Capt. John Smith, of Pocahontas fame. Over the years since they have served as a base for fishermen working the bountiful waters of the Gulf of Maine, a haven for the occasional pirate, and a summer retreat for artists and the well-to-do.

Tony Award-winning librettist Arthur Laurents' Broadway direction is recreated for the tour by David Saint, the Associate Director on Broadway. The original Jerome Robbins choreography is reproduced by Tony Award-nominee Joey McKneely (The Boy from Oz, The Life).

The story spins an hilarious farce of sentimental pirates, bumbling policemen, dim-witted young lovers, dewy-eyed daughters and an eccentric Major-General, all morally bound to the often-ridiculous dictates of honor and duty. St. Mary's Bank Donates $25,000 to Palace Theatre

St. Mary's Bank recent $25,000 donation to The Palace Theatre will provide support for two separate initiatives. $10,000 will be applied toward the theatre's Second Century Campaign designed to fund its capital improvements. The funds will be used for much needed theatre improvements and safety upgrades. The balance of St. Mary's gift, $15,000, will help fund "Angel Tickets" for the Palace Theatre's school matinee program for the next three years.

This month, in Dorks in Dungeons, they continue their ongoing adventure in a two hour improv comedy adventure in the tradition of Dungeons and Dragons.
