Single Tickets for THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA at Hennepin Theatre Trust's Orpheum Theatre On Sale Today

Hennepin Theatre Trust announced today that single tickets for the spectacular new production of Cameron Mackintosh and Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, running December 13, 2013 through January 5, 2014 at Hennepin Theatre Trust's Orpheum Theatre, go on sale at 9 a.m. today, July 12. From 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., tickets will only be available in person at the State Theatre Box Office. Beginning at 10 a.m., tickets will also be available online at www.HennepinTheatreTrust.org, by calling 1.800.982.2787 or visiting a Ticketmaster Ticket Center.

Fresh Ink, Illusion's annual summer series focusing on new plays, gives space for artists to develop their creative pieces and try their works-in-progress in front of audiences. For three weekends in July, emerging and established playwrights explore new ground, with a different play on stage each weekend. Now in its 26th year, Fresh Ink has presented more than 120 plays, with many going on to become full-length productions.

Tedious Brief Productions proudly presents The Final Act, an Elizabethan noir thriller that tells the true (well, partially true) story of the death of playwright Christopher Marlowe, contemporary of William Shakespeare. The play is being produced as part of the Minnesota Fringe Festival which runs from August 1st through the 11th.

The Guthrie Theater welcomes Vincent Kartheiser, known to worldwide audiences as advertising executive Pete Campbell in the ongoing Golden Globe, Emmy and SAG Award-winning series 'Mad Men', in the iconic role of Mr. Darcy in the theater's production of Pride and Prejudice, based on the novel by Jane Austen, adapted for the stage by Simon Reade and directed by Joe Dowling. The final show of the Guthrie's 50th anniversary season, Pride and Prejudice will begin previews tonight, July 6, with an opening night of July 12, and will run through August 31.

Hennepin Theatre Trust welcomes the 2013 League of Historic American Theatres' (LHAT) 37th Annual Conference, the largest gathering of historic theatre professionals in the country, to Minneapolis/St. Paul from July 16-20. The prestigious keynote speaker on July 17 is Rip Rapson, Minneapolis native and President/CEO of the Kresge Foundation. Rapson and Kresge are important catalysts in the national Creative Placemaking movement, which is the conference theme. The Trust joins other local partners including Schuler Shook, the Fitzgerald Theater and Cowles Center/Artspace in hosting conference events. Highlights include a theatre "ramble" touring area venues, tools and techniques sessions and an awards ceremony.
