The Full MOnty at Theatre 55

THE FULL MONTY, with a book by Terrence McNally and music/lyrics by David Yazbek. Adapted from the 1997 British film, THE FULL MONTY is about unemployed steelworkers in Buffalo, NY, who form a male striptease act to make money, finding strength and camaraderie in the process. The show, which premiered on Broadway in 2000, is known for its heartfelt story, pop/rock score, and themes of working-class struggles, self-consciousness, and male bonding, culminating in a now-famous final strip scene. It received nine Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical.
