In a return to its vaudeville roots the new Loring Theater announces Loring Theater Live, a modern day variety show. The monthly events begin on February 5 and will see the 90 year old theater come to life with a slate of short performances by musicians, acrobats, comedians and other performers. Beginning with an artists' bazaar in the lobby, a performance in the theater's auditorium and ending with a dance event on the stage with Flared Bass Collective, Loring Theateris a full evening of theatrical activity.
The event has been brought together by Loring Theater's Artistic Director, Steve Barberio and producer Alex Goldfarb and features local acts including Greg Herriges, I Like You, Blue Soul Caravan, Twin Siddhi Acronauts, The Aeriel Collective, The Lovemelts, Four Humors Theater Company and Brently MD. Both collaborative and experimental, Loring Theater Live provides interactive performances for the next generation of theatergoers. Loring Theater, previously the Music Box Theater, returned to Minneapolis this December when it reverted to its original name. As a modern day variety house the theater is offering an eclectic mix of theater, music, cinema and physical performances.
