This mad-cap musical comedy based on Shakespeare?s Twelfth Night, playing September 16 through October 11, overflows with rock ?n roll, gospel, romance and mistaken identities. All Shook tells the story of a small town girl with big dreams and the motorcycle-riding roustabout she falls for. Acorn Acting Academy To Offer Free Audience Participation Improv Comedy Night 9/17

The Acorn Acting Academy kicks off a fall series of events in the new Acorn Studio Theater with a free night of improvisational comedy featuring members of Acorn?s Shakespeare Ensemble showcasing another side of their talents. The evening begins at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 17th with a ½ hour set of traditional favorites performed by Acorn?s Producing Director Michael Levine and actors Keith Anctil, Stephanie Ross and Laura Graham. Following this set, audience members will be invited to replace members of the company on stage during the next hour of material, providing for a constantly changing repertoire of performers. This participation, however, will be purely voluntary as no one will be asked to come up on stage unless they volunteer. The event is designed to provide a fun forum for interested members of the community to see Acorn?s new theater space and meet members of Acorn's teaching faculty, as three out of the company?s four teachers will be performing. Seating is first-come, first-serve and no reservations will be taken.

The Mystery of Edwin Drood opened last night (July 29) (this week) at Hackmatack Playhouse in Berwick. The Mystery of Edwin Drood was the Charles Dickens' novel left unfinished at the time of Dickens' death. The audience is polled toward the end of the second act and with some comedy by-play, the audience decides the fate of the ending.
