“If the performance artist Marina Abromovic were a clown” The New York Times.
Claire Woolner, LA-based absurdist comedian, is bringing her award-winning clown show to The Elysian Theater for one night only of what is sure to be a beautifully executed fever dream.
Join her as she attempts to perform her most “important” pieces—work made up of surrealist clown bits, absurdist performance pieces and absolute vulnerable
breakdowns. This tragicomedic clown confessional teeters on the line of what is intended and
what is improvised, bringing the audience on an exciting (and at times nervewracking) ride of ego
battle, failure and creativity and how to survive, discover and connect amidst them all.
Quotes: “deranged and hysterical”—TheWeeReview*****
“A rollercoaster ride with wild thrills mixed with laughs of incredulity that she went to such extremes, and laughs of relief that the danger is artificial. Probably.”—Chortle****
“There is courage in her clowning, and salvation in our laughter.”—TheTVolution
