Insurgo Theater Announces Auditions for HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH, 3/27 & 3/28

INSURGO THEATER MOVEMENT ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR: HEDWIG and THE ANGRY INCH to be held on Saturday, March 27 from 2-5pm and Sunday, March 28 from 2-5pm at the Insurgo Theater (900 E. Karen Ave. suite #D114 in Commercial Center)

Performance dates are 5/7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, 29. Rehearsal schedule is flexible.

For Hedwig:

Prepare a short contemporary monologue and rock song (a la David Bowie, Queen, T.Rex, etc.) a capella or to track (bring CD). You will also be asked to read from the show (Please note the eastern European dialect.). Sides will be available at the audition.

For Yitzhak:

Prepare a short contemporary monologue and rock song (a la Joan Jett, Heart, Pink, etc.) a capella or to track (bring CD). You will also be asked to deliver Yitzhak's spoken monologue from the middle of "Tear Me Down" (Please note the eastern European dialect.). Sides will be available at the audition.

Insurgo is also seeking a local rock/punk band to be "The Angry Inch".

The band consists of keyboard, drums, (2) guitars and bass with backup vocals. Lead vocals will be cast separately. "The Angry Inch" is onstage for the duration of the show and each band member portrays a specific character with a back-story and special relationship to Hedwig. This production will incorporate minimal band dialogue, improvisation and will also showcase the band outside of the standard show structure. Additional opportunities to highlight and promote the band outside of the show are also available.
