The Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, Indiana to Open in January 2011

Providing its region with a cultural attraction of world-class quality and scale, the new, multi-venue Center for the Performing Arts will open the first of its facilities on Saturday, January 29, 2011, when it inaugurates its grand concert hall, The Palladium.

The 8th annual USA International Harp Competition begins July 7 at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, Ind., culminating in a finals concert with the IU Summer Festival Orchestra in the Musical Arts Center on July 17. Buck Creek Players, the award-winning all-volunteer community theater on the southeast side of Marion County, will present Arthur Kopit's translation of Henrik Ibsen's Ghosts beginning Friday, June 4th, and continuing for two weekends through Sunday, June 13th. Curtain times are at 8:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, with 2:30 p.m. matinees on Sundays.
