Kumu Kahua Theatre, in collaboration with Bamboo Ridge Press announce the November prompt for their monthly play writing contest, Go Try PlayWrite. Thanks to a generous donation from an anonymous donor, contest winners in 2024 will receive a $100.00 check as well as a subscription to Bamboo Ridge Press.

The University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa's Department of Theatre & Dance and Kennedy Theatre is presenting the final performances of 4.48 Psychosis by Sarah Kane, directed by MFA candidate Arlo Chiaki Rowe. This production of Sarah Kane's final play will be performed at the Earle Ernst Lab Theatre. Check out production photos here!

The September Go Try PlayWrite winner is Matthew Miller for his piece Hell, If I Know Matthew Miller is an improviser. Born and raised on Oahu, Matthew doesn’t usually write because Matthew has a difficult time being creative in that medium, but Matthew sometimes gets lucky performing in small parts around Oahu instead.

Review: DISNEY'S FROZEN, THE BROADWAY MUSICAL at Diamond Head Theatre

Diamond Head Theatre casts an icy spell over the heat of Hawaii’s kauwela with its 2023-2024 season closer of Disney’s Frozen, a “monster” of a show and a tremendous get for the Hawai’i theatre scene. This is by far one of the biggest undertakings artistically and technically in recent DHT history, even bringing on Broadway vet Charlie Williams to direct, who has been a part of this show since its pre-Broadway run in 2017.
