The play is a romantic nightmare. The tremendous pictures make the feelings spread rampantly. At the end, the war scene, woven around the myth, becomes the battlefield of love. Love that appears in spite of political resistance, in defiance of battle prospects. The Greek hero Achill and the Amazon queen turn out to be absolute novices of this awakening feeling.
