ISABEL
SYNOPSIS: Matt's fixing up a Cheap Old House in the middle of nowhere; soon it will be all his, a place to hide from the noisy world. Then Harriet and Isabel show up unannounced, bringing news about mysterious abandoned staircases in the forest, a backpack named Loaves, and the uncannily human screams of mountain lions.
Note for all actors: We welcome and invite gender non-confirming, genderqueer, transgender, and non-binary actors to audition for the roles they most identify with. We seek to cast expansively and intentionally with consideration of race/ethnicity, gender, body type and ability.
MATT, THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST. late 20s early 30s, they/he, trans man, transmasc, Asian: That dude who's a bit sad all the time. Gruff, but it means he likes you. Embarrassed by his own emotions.
HARRIET, mid 20s, he/him, cis or trans man, Asian. Matt's sibling: Exuberant, optimistic, would unironically have Live Love Laugh decor. May appear airheaded, a puppydog, but he's just letting you think that.
ISABEL, 20ish, Isabel, trans man. Harriet's partner: The cool extrovert in the room; surprisingly bad at handling crisis. A little mean, but that's armor. Asian actors are encouraged to audition for this role, but open to actors of all ethnicities.
