CONTRACT

Special Agreement — $1,387 weekly minimum — SMTA personnel.

SEEKING

  • Music by Alan Menken. Lyrics by Jack Feldman. Book by Harvey Fierstein.
  • Equity chorus dancers for NEWSIES. Expected to attend: NEWSIES / ENSEMBLE / SWINGS.
  • Ages: 18+ to play 13–20. Roles include Race, Romeo, Elmer, Darcy, and Finch — some of the hard-working kids of New York City who go on strike for a livable wage.
  • Vocal: Tenor–Baritone. Acro and tricks a plus.
  • All principal roles will be understudied.
  • Director / Choreographer: David Grindrod
  • Associate Choreographer: Sierra Lai Barnett
  • Music Director: Anthony T. Edwards
  • Casting: Geoff Josselson Casting. Casting Directors: Geoff Josselson or Felicia Rudolph
  • Executive Producer: Caroline Gibel

PREPARATION

Please be prepared to dance at the appointed time in sneakers or jazz shoes. Bring a headshot and resume stapled together. If time permits, you may be asked to stay and sing — please be prepared with a short contemporary musical theatre song in the style of the show and bring sheet music in the appropriate key.
