Brooklyn Ballet

Brooklyn Ballet is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit professional ballet company and school based in downtown Brooklyn. Brooklyn Ballet School operates as both a classical ballet conservatory and a community dance center, offering pre-professional training and recreational classes for children, teens and adults with the stated aim of creating equitable access to high-level dance education. Faculty teach year-round classes in ballet, pointe, modern, contemporary, jazz, composition and improvisation for students aged 3 to 17, with a graded progression from Pre-Ballet (ages 3-5) through Elementary Ballet, Ballet I and Ballet II/Pre-Pointe, plus conservatory-level training. The adult program runs semester and drop-in classes from absolute beginner to advanced for ages 18 and over. Summer programming includes the Next Step Summer Intensive for ages 10-17 covering ballet, pointe, variations, modern, contemporary, jazz and hip hop, alongside weekly children's and adult summer classes. Merit and need-based scholarships are offered through the Elevate in-school residency program, and the company performs an annual spring season and The Brooklyn Nutcracker.
