About this studio
Brighton Ballet Theater is a non-profit dance school in Brooklyn, New York and one of the borough's longest-established cultural centers, bringing dance to more than 400 children a year. Training follows the Russian Vaganova method under Artistic Director and Principal Choreographer Edouard Kouchnarev. The school is organized into a Children's Division for ages 2-7, an Open Division for ages 6 to adult, a pre-professional Advanced Division for ages 7-18, a Modern Division for ages 6-18 and a competition team for ages 6-18. Its distinguishing feature is performance: original full-length ballets with costumes and scenery are created specifically for the children, so students perform work usually reserved for adult companies.
