Cicely Tyson has won the 2013 Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Lead Role in a play for her portrayal of Carrie Watts in THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL.

John Lee Beatty has won the 2013 Tony Award for Best Scenic Design of a Play for THE NANCE.

Cyndi Lauper has won the 2013 Tony Award for Best Original Score (music and/or lyrics) written for the theater for KINKY BOOTS.

Rob Howell has won the 2013 Tony Award for Best Scenic Design of a Musical for MATILDA THE MUSICAL.

The critically-acclaimed 50th anniversary Broadway revival of Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? has won the 2013 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play.

Hugh Vanstone has won the 2013 Tony Award for Best Lighting Design of a Musical for MATILDA THE MUSICAL.

PIPPIN has won the 2013 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical. The production has received 4 Drama Desk Awards including Outstanding Revival of a Musical, Outstanding Director of a Musical (Diane Paulus),Outstanding Choreography (Chet Walker & Gypsy Snider) and Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical (Andrea Martin).

Billy Porter has won the 2013 Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical for his portrayal of 'Lola' in KINKY BOOTS.

Patina Miller has won the 2013 Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role for her performance of 'The Leading Player' in Diane Paulus' newest production of PIPPIN, now playing at the Music Box Theater.

Kinky Boots has one the 2013 Tony Award for Best Musical. From four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (book), Grammy Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Music & Lyrics), Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell (Director & Choreographer), the production began preview performances on Broadway at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on March 3, 2013 and opened last night, April 4, 2013.

The 2013 Theatre Museum Awards for Excellence were held Monday night, June 3rd, at The Players Club. Honorees at the evening's ceremony included the Distinguished Service to the Theatre Award given, posthumously, to Helen Guditis and The Theatre Arts Education Award presented to Emerson College. The evening also included a special tribute to the Palace Theater in honor of its 100th anniversary. The Palace Tribute was a trip back in time to the vaudeville era. In honor and anticipation of the Tony Awards ceremony on Sunday evening, June 9, CUNY TV will celebrate the Broadway theatre with an eight-hour marathon of 'Theater Talk,' 'ATW's Working in the Theatre,' and 'TimesTalks' programs from noon till 8 p.m. that day. Then the Tony Awards ceremony begins live on the CBS Television Network.

The 2013 Tony Awards are just days away, and host Neil Patrick Harris has finally revealed some details about the highly-anticipated opening number! According to an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, the song was written by Broadway veterans Lin-Manuel Miranda and Tom Kitt.

Paper Mill Playhouse hosted the 18th Annual Rising Star Awards - Presented by the Investors Foundation -tonight, June 4th at the Millburn Theater. Schools nominated for Outstanding Overall Production and Leading Actor/Actress nominees performed at the event and award recipients were presented with a crystal award from Tiffany & Co. Summit High School came out on top, winning Outstanding Overall Production of a Musical. A total of 31 awards were presented along with five scholarships and other cash prizes. The American Theatre Wing's Tony Awards ceremony is the most glamorous night of the Broadway season - and this year will be no exception. Dozens of stage and screen stars will join Emmy Award-winning host Neil Patrick Harris on CBS on June 9 to perform and make appearances on this year's telecast, and to salute excellence in Broadway theatre.
