NMTC Launches Facebook Campaign to Raise Money and Pick NMTC Season

By:

With only 5 days to go, New Millennium Theatre Company is using the Chase Community Giving Facebook Campaign as a unique way to involve its fans and supporters in the theatre is produces. NMTC has lived by the standard "creating theatre we want to see" since their over a decade ago. Now, this popular and cult culture-oriented theatre is opening it's programming up to its audience and putting its money where its mouth is; literally. NMTC is tying the newly created Cult Culture Audience Choice Award to the Chase Community Giving Campaign. By voting for New Millennium on the Chase Community Giving page, a person can also cast a vote for a favorite TV show or movie that he or she would like to see performed live, onstage. If New Millennium receives enough votes for the Chase campaign to get on the list of the top 200 organizations, it will produce the top rated show/film in its signature innovative parody style and those who voted for the winning show will receive personal invitations to the opening performance.

Says Artistic Director and Founder Chad Wise, "NMTC has always strived to create highly entertaining theatre that reflects popular culture. Our mission enables us to give both traditional and nontraditional theatergoers a unique experience that is tied to what excites them and makes them feel included. Earning a gift from Chase Community Giving will help the company create more hilarity, yes, but it would also validate what our audiences tell us every time they come to our shows: Chicago's entertainment options would be lacking without our perspective."

The Chase Community Giving Facebook Campaign is a truly innovative approach to rewarding worthy charities. New Millennium wanted to compliment it with an innovative way to interact with existing and potential Chicago theatre audience. The company's mission puts it in an exclusive position to give Chicagoans entertainment they want.

To vote for NMTC, simply log onto Facebook and search for the Chase Community Giving page at: http://apps.facebook.com/chasecommunitygiving/. "Like" the page. Search for New Millennium Theatre Company and vote. Then invite your friends to do the same. Individuals may vote for up to 20 organizations. Or visit www.nmtchicago.org for more information.
