One of the all-time great cabaret artists comes to one of the landmark clubs, at long last.
The great singing actress and legendary Kabarettist, Karen Akers, will be making her Birdland solo show debut this month, and it's about time. On April 25th the two forces that are Birdland and Akers will join together for what is sure to be an unforgettable evening of musical storytelling. The program, musical directed by Alex Rybeck, will be a look back at some of the songs that brought Ms. Akers acclaim as a cabaret star, as well as songs from her time on Broadway and in front of the camera. While waiting, with bated breath, for the special evening of entertainment, Broadway World Cabaret has been looking through some of our most adored Karen Akers performances.
